When you cannot find your files, try the following 2 ways to retrieve them:

Scenario 1: The edits & annotations disappeared when opening the file by directly double-clicking on the original PDF file rather than opening it through the PDF Reader app.

You can find the edited files from the "Recent" in the PDF Reader. We also recommend you open PDF files through the PDF Reader app to prevent missing your edits.

Scenario 2: The app closes during your editing. When you reopen the app, the file is not in the "Recently Open" list.

You can find this copied file from the following path:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\0D9A1B2D.PDFReaderUWP_jhretta7p24aw\LocalState\Resources

When you find the file, add .pdf as its extension. Then it will be a usable PDF file.
