Recognizable Shapes

Your character should be recognizable even in silhouette. Your character is composed of main shapes, contrast the sizes or move the shape components to create a recognizable character. 

 

Contrast Color Value 

Adjust the color value (the color brightness).To make a vivid character, avoid using a similar color value in a character. After adjusting the colors, test out your characters on different backgrounds. 

 

Use Shapes and Poses

See the body as a utility, exaggerate the body type or pose to express characters' personality and their "stories". Check the makeover sample in their video (12:02), it's amazing.
