Most of you may already know that PDF Reader started on the iOS platform, but now you can enjoy it across different operating systems, and on your smartphone, tablet, and desktop. In the following tips, we are showing you several unique features designed to enhance your experience on each of the operating systems.
iOS(iPhone iPad) - Files App
Files app is Apple’s new app for devices running iOS 11 and later. It is a central place where you can access all the files on your device and on iCloud.
- Launch the “Files” app.
- Tap “On My iPhone” and you will see the “PDF Reader” folder.
- Then you can browse all the files stored within the app.
- Tap on the target file, and it will be directly opened through the PDF Reader app.
Android - Local Folder
The “Local Folder” helps you to access all the files stored in your device from within the PDF Reader app.
- Tap the navigation drawer on the top left corner and switch to the “Local Folder” tab.
- Choose either “FILE TYPE” or “SD CARD” to browse the files stored within your device.
- You can edit them without moving them to PDF Reader.
Mac - Mojave’s Dark Mode
The Mac version enables you to take advantage of the Dark Mode on macOS Mojave.
- Open System Preferences > General > Appearance and select Dark.
- Once enabled, the PDF Reader will automatically switch to the dark mode.
(Note: The dark mode is currently only available for the latest macOS Mojave)
Windows 10 - Surface Dial
We have integrated the Surface Dial with PDF Reader to involve your other hand in your workflow.
- Connect your Surface Dial with your device using Bluetooth.
- Launch PDF Reader and open one PDF document.
- Press the Dial until you see the control panel.
- Rotate your Surface Dial to switch between the annotation tools.
