How to Add Audio to Your Animation

How to Add Audio to Your Animation

Export your animation as a video, the app will lead you to an audio editor. You can import audio clips or add new recordings to the animations. You can easily view the length of each audio track on the interface or move it to different parts of the animation.

Zoom in/ out the audio panel

Touch gesture: two-finger spread or pinch to zoom in and out the panel

Mouse: roll the mouse wheel to zoom in and zoom out the panel

Shorten the Audio

Touch gesture: Drag the one end of the audio bar to shorten the audio.

Mouse: left-click and drag one end of the audio bar to shorten the audio

Algin the Video and Audio

The audio bar snaps to the indicator. If you want to move the audio bar to a precise location, please move the indicator to the desire position. Move the audio bar close to the indicator, and the bar will snap to the indicator.

Fade in/ Fade out Effects

Tap or click on the “Fade” button. Control the volume by dragging the two ends of the audio bar. The steeper the line is, the drastic volume change there will be.

Is there any way to add audio to the animation while youre animating it? I need to add music so I can lip sync the characters, and its almost impossible to do that when I can only add the audio in at the end.

Yeah this is kind of a big deal and a big point of why I'm still looking for other apps for animation. When that feature is added I would absolutely recommend this app.

    Hello Russel, memelina, pyrotec37,

Thank you so much for the feedback. We are currently working on the audio feature that allows you to add audio while animating. Please stay tuned.

Not having any audio importing while animating at all is the biggest reason I can't default to this app right away. It has everything else going for it, but without this feature, it GREATLY limits the types of projects I can do with Animation Desk. Until it's there, I really have no choice but to use literally any other animation app except Kdan's.

    Hello Zane,

For the current version, we support users to import audio when exporting animations. Please give it a try, thank you!

    Hello melanie bryant

The audio importing function is in the "Export" page, and it's available on PC version of Animation Desk Windows as well.
Please press export to add audio. Thank you!

Hi team Kdan, love the app but struggle with the tutorials. I'm struggling with the above "how to add audio" guide because MP4 is not an export option for either the Classic or Ultimate versions of Animation Desk I have.

Couldn't agree more with Andrew! Some clear video tutorials clearly illustrating how to use this program are greatly needed.

Hi I'm new to the software but as far as I can tell you are still not able to animate over audio? This was supposedly "in development" five years ago. I am not a programmer but how is it still not a feature? This article is so old and you haven't tried at all to improve it? It is essential for a lot of animation this is so sad. Do better.
